Following Swift’s emotional and humorous Instagram Stories post on witnessing Reynolds’ labor of love come to fruition for his and Hugh Jackman’s latest movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, Lively expressed gratitude to her closest friend for “honoring my guy(s).”

Lively said, “I couldn’t have said it better myself,” over an Instagram Story that reshared Swift’s original on Thursday. “Which is unsurprising given that I have 14 less Grammys and not a single sold out stadium world tour.”

During the artist’s tribute to Reynolds and Jackman at the Tortured Poets Department, Swift exclaimed that she had witnessed “one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness and magic into this film.”

She said, “He’s created the best work of his life, and the film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality and an abs sandwich.”

Swift remarked, “I don’t know how he did it,” before humorously directing the praise onto Jackman.

“But that’s just Hugh!” she commented next to a picture of herself, Jackman, Reynolds, Lively, and Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy at a Kansas City Chiefs game in October 2023. “We were also crashed by these other strangers in the picture.

That part about the sperm donor? In her final homage to Reynolds, Jackman, and the movie, Swift saved the best for last, giving him a particular shoutout.

In reference to Reynolds’ roles as Deadpool & Wolverine and as Lively’s spouse and the father of their four children—James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and Olin, 17 months—she said, “Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!”

After keeping the child’s name a mystery for a while, Reynolds revealed the identity of his and Lively’s fourth child while speaking at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere at the Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday.

Reynolds joked that they were waiting for Swift to “tell us what the big reveal is” before making the announcement.

In a May Today interview, Reynolds said to Savannah Guthrie, “We always wait for Taylor.” We’re still waiting, so Taylor, let’s perhaps get started on that, you know. She writes a lot of books. Really, what are we doing in this place? Furthermore, I wouldn’t characterize Taylor as lazy.
