Michelle Obama : As calls grow for Biden to drop out, new poll shows Michelle Obama would beat Trump. According to a recent poll, former first lady Michelle Obama would defeat former President Donald Trump in a fictitious matchup.

If the presidential election were to take place today, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted between July 1 and July 2, 50% of registered voters would vote for Obama and 39% for Trump. Eleven percent of those surveyed said they didn’t know, would vote for a different candidate, or would not cast a ballot.

According to the poll, Trump would earn more votes than other possible Democratic contenders on the list, including as Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.

Additionally, 55% of registered voters stated they felt favorably about Obama, but 42% felt the same way about Trump. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points and was conducted among 892 registered voters.

The results coincide with a number of Democrats expressing misgivings about Democratic contender President Joe Biden following a lackluster debate performance against Trump last week that highlighted his 81-year-old age. Of the 1,070 Americans surveyed for the poll, 56% concur that Biden ought to withdraw from the race after the debate.
